In reviewing the profiles on the 91 SE Registry I notice one of the members indicates his SE has ABS. It was my understanding from the other forrm that none of the 91 Miatas came equipped with ABS. Am I mistaken? I know my 91 doesa not have ABS altho it has all the other SE bells and whistles.

I recently posted a thread called "BRG Fact Sheet".
Halfway down the thread, it says:
"Optional: hardtop, automatic transmission, anti-lock brakes.
Note that anti-lock brakes were not available with an automatic
transmission."
Take a look at the thread for more info.
Hope that helps!

Thanks. That does help. I wasn't aware that there were more options that didn't come on the SE. My SE doesn't have a dash ABS light so I assume it doesn't exist. Is there another way to determine whether or not there is ABS on the car?

I see you've also posed the question on forum.miata.net. Thanks to Gary, we now have a couple of options when asking a question. I like it!
Of all the responses at the forum, I particularly like the one by EricMiata, where you click on his response and it brings you to the Miata sales poster.

I agree. That was very informative. I actually have one of those SE brochures stored away in a file somewhere but never thought to consult it.

spriteski,
The ABS control unit, if installed, sits near the firewall on the passenger side, behind the windshield washer fluid reservoir.
See attached image, notice the red box, showing mine does not have ABS :o.

My original Car brochure says: Brakes Power assisted with dual hydraulic circuits. 9.3 inch ventilated front discs and 9.1 inch rear discs. Anti-lock brake system (ABS) (optional, M-5 only).
You can tell easily if you have ABS, it is located on the passenger side of the engine compartment snugged on the edge near the engine wall, and your fluid reserve will be located up in front the right of the radiator.
Mine does not have ABS but our M does so I can see where they are located.
