Although I have posted these topics on the Forum I want to participate in keeping this 1991 BRG SE Forum alive and well. My 91 SE is suffering from a couple of normal Miata ills. I am having trouble locating a proper CAS 0-ring, one that is evidently made of something other than rubber which evidently is not adequate. Thus far all I have located are rubber ones at my local Napa store. Can someone give me a hint as to where I can find viton, nitrile or Buna N o rings? The leak is small at present but I want to stop it before it grows.
The 2nd issue which is more serious is the failure of my driver's side power window to function. One morning I went to leave for work and it just wouldn't go up or down although I can hear the motor laboring. Some on the other forum have indicated that I need to remove the panel and replace a possibly rusted cable assembly but this is delicate sugrey. Any other suggestions? The strangest part of this is that it worked fine when parked and the next morning it didn't work at all. Sort of reminds me of my British cars!

I used the CAS o-ring from the dealer and it's been fine for a year or so so far.
When you are driving the car and it has some revs, does the window move? My drivers side is super slow, or unresponsive without some extra go from the motor. I've already cleaned the switch, guess it's time to open up the panel... If it was a British car it would have been raining and the window would be stuck down ;)

I can physically move the window up and down with a great deal of effort. If I leave it up to drive it creeps back down. It certainly reminds me of my British cars!

I also like to keep the 1991 brg se forum alive.
Can't help with the o-ring.
For the windows, go over to the forum, and in the NA section, do a search on "hard cranking windows". They have some suggestions there that might be applicable to your situation. Let us know how it turns out.

Will those suggestions be applicable to the power windows in the SE? I'll give it shot, nothing to lose at this point. Got wet this morning driving to work as the window slowly crept down on me. Reminds me of when I drive my MGBs with the top up and windows closed in the rain.

Can't attest to the applicability of the thread. Just throwing out options. Hopefully, it did some good.
