I stop by this sight every evening and feel very lonely when I do! Just want to try and get something going so I will throw a question out there that I put on Miata.net. I am converting my car to 1.8 brakes. Have the cal brackets, rotors and pads. Have done a bunch of research and ready to go. I then read in a motorworks Miata performance manual not to do the conversion on 92 + 93 ABS equiped cars. Why is this and would it be any problem on a 91 with ABS like mine?

Preface: I lack familiarity with Miata ABS systems. Not knowing how the Miata's ABS is calibrated, it may cause some sort of ABS fault. Meaning ABS could cut in when you don't want it to, or ABS could not cut in when you do want it to. You may also not be able to hook up the ABS sensors and that'll prevent the ABS from working at all- not sure. Since most Miatas don't have ABS, it's not a question that comes up frequently.
Personally I'd just dump the ABS.

Thanks for the reply Ricky. As far as dumping the ABS I wouldn't know where to start!
