While I like all Rx-7s and they are all great cars, everyone has a favorite for one reason or another.

My personal favorite are the 1st gens. I really dig the lines.
The better integrated bumpers really smooths out the look for me on the '81+ cars and I don't like the redesigned interior on the '84-85 cars, it's the '81-'83 cars for me.

To get even more specific, the '83 model is my favorite due to a real speedometer (130 mph) and no lock on the gas cap which further smooths things out for me.

Anyway, vote on your favorite and tell us why.

Please, no bashing of other models.

Sorry, but I gotta go with the FD. Cliche, I know. But the FD is such a beautiful car, I just couldn't say no to one.

That said, I like all three, and would gladly own any of them if time and space allowed.

If I need to maintain it, FC, if maintenance is not an issue, FD. :)

Same here, the FDs are beautiful yet somewhat fragile. I also like the FCs but always felt the styling was a bit derivative of the Porsche 924. I owned (albeit briefly) an 83' and liked everything about it except the interior. I just felt It could be better. Plus the interior was red and I have never been a fan of red interiors.

Yeah, the red interiors in the 1st gens were particularly off-putting shade of red to me. I felt that the black interior in my old '83 was pretty cozy, the red ones I test drove just didn't feel good.

I am partial to the FBs myself. I also like the FD's but never cared much for the FC's

I voted 3rd gen. It's like sex on wheels. If I was ever going to go tin can again, it would be my pick. We've got a lot of them here in NZ. :)
