Hybrids are a royal PITA, due to the amounts of electricity that can be flowing through the chassis in a wreck, as well as the chemicals in the batteries. IIRC the Prius has the batteries in the rear and the engine in the front, so it has a really big extension cord between them that requires you to be very careful with the jaws of life. I wish I remembered more, but I haven't been to any training sessions in quite some time now.

Where I live, they just finished the training sessions about the jaws of life and the electrical cars.

It is truly an intricate procedure, and one that I hope to never take part in.

It's scary stuff.:eek:

I'm due for all my refreshers this summer, so I'll likely get an update then. Since I'm not actively rescuing anyone at the moment it's not of primary concern, but I like to keep appraised of what's going on. Since I worked at the beach in the summer, windows were almost always down, making extrication relatively simple, just grab and yank. ;)
