Gas costs are up. So is Third World consumer demand. The result: a new breed of cars that are cooler, cheaper and incredibly small. Goodbye, Hummer.

1. Gas prices are going to have to go WAY up before people start driving little cars like that regularly.

2. I guess just cutting down on driving is too much to ask of people. Then again, it's asking too much for people to live within their means and to turn off the lights when they leave a room, so maybe it is just unreasonable. :rolleyes

3. Why do these cars still have pathetically low fuel economy? I mean a Fit doesn't do much better on gas than a regular Civic, despite the smaller engine and significantly lower power.

4. Maybe if we weren't stuck in these absurd horsepower wars we wouldn't have the problems.
