Caught the Mazda bug back in 1989 when I purchased a used 90 MX-5 with all of the fixins plus LSD.
Our house currently has a base red mx-5 that I am restoring, an '04 Orange Mazda 3 5 door, and an 07 GT Mazda 5 with everything less navigation. Just curious what everyone else is working on. --Victor |

Just sold my red A package 1990 Miata, bought a 1990 base model Miata a couple months ago, with an Aerodyne turbo kit. My other projects aren't Mazdas, including, but not limited to, a veggie oil Mercedes, and a soon to be added (hopefully) 5/4 ton ex-military Chevy.

I caught the bug when I bought a heavily used and abused '83 Rx7 in 2000. Currently have an '01 miata of which I am the original owner. The current/just finished project is my wife's '89 323 which her and her sister bought together in high school. I recently performed a minor resurrection on the car and am now enjoying 33 mpg commuting on regular.

You seriously need to find some 323 GTX parts. Just think, in cruising your mileage will be great, but when you stomp it and the turbo comes on boil, you're GONE. Plus, you can rallycross on the weekends.

Haha, trust me, I've had that same thought.
My research on the matter has turned up the following facts. 1) My car is a sedan, which limits me somewhat. 2) The GTX used a totally different pan -- no making my sedan 4WD ![]() 3) The 323 GT had pretty much the same B6T setup as the GTX, just no 4WD. A complete Engine & electronics plus trans swap (out of a 323 GT) is a little more than I wanted to get into for a reliable 33 mpg commuter car. Although I'm pretty sure I'd be able to get some suspension goodies to bolt up ![]()
